A lil while ago in the posting haitus of '07 I came across the website of Brandon Bird, a painter/illustrator/pop culture genius. Dude's work is a pitch perfect combination of recondite popculture references and overall absurdity. I want to go on some long diatribe detailing the grandeur of his work but instead I'll just let it speak for itself.

"Bad Day on the High Sea"

"The Death of Jennifer Sisko"

"Killing Machine"

"King of the Cage"
I particularly love "King of the Cage" which at first view is simply a picture of a barrel chested Abe Lincol going harbody on two dudes in a cage match. But on further inspection we realize it's Linocln replacing Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in the first X-men film. What does this mean? I have no clue but I whole heartedly support this guy in his lunacy.
