UNFORTUNATELY WERE NOT ALL ROBOTS

A new film from Korean auteur Chan Wook Park, director of "Oldboy" and "Sympathy For Lady Vengeance". on this outing CWP decides to step away from the grim, ultra violent, pessimistic material he's known for and tries a romantic comedy. anyone familiar with his previous films will undoubtedly be surprised at this stark 180 in tone and direction (one of his previous films featured an actor eating an octopus whole on screen). but as the international trailer below shows, CWP is able to handle at least the visuals with an amazing amount of flourish and restraint. his use of color is amazing, as the film just pops off the screen. and if the story is on par with that of his darker material im sure we're in for a real romcom convention busting treat in the vein of "Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind" and "Punch Drunk Love".

Apparently the plot invloves a woman who is in a mental institution because she thinks she's a battle cyborg. and a man who wears a bunny mask, that believes he absorbs other's powers. and they fall in love in the mental institution. i shit you not.
